On Tuesday the 19th of February, the year 3 to 7’s took the bus to Birdwood High School to watch some of Birdwood’s students perform a play called “The Terrible Infants” as a part of the Fringe Festival. The play told the story of a young girl called Tilly who liked to tell tales. An elderly woman warned Tilly that telling tales would make Tilly grow a tail but Tilly took no notice and kept fibbing. The old woman was right. Tilly grew a tail and the tail started making mischief all over town. Throughout the play there were small stories. There was a story about a boy called tom how ate his mummy and got a big tummy. This story taught a lesson about listening to your parents because toms mum wouldn’t let him eat any lollies while she was in his tummy. Another story told of a shy boy who was so shy he eventually disappeared. There were many other stories which taught good lessons. The kids who watched the show said that it was funny and really cool. After the play finished the students got to find out a bit about the performs, they got to ask questions like, what instruments they play or what do they do outside of drama. Hopefully everyone learnt some valuable information about the performance and understood what they were talking about. Everyone had a great day and really enjoyed the performance.
