Our students put on another fabulous concert on Tuesday 24 September. For the first time ever the concert was held in our school gymnasium, making it a personal and intimate event.
After a solo guitar performance by Seb, the dinosaurs from Mrs Simpson’s reception class gave a stellar performance on the marimbas.
This was followed by renditions of “Pudding on a Hill” and “Kondolli” (the Kaurna and Ramindjeri Dreaming story of the Southern Right Whale) by Ms Scarfo’s sea creatures.
Mrs Whiting’s woodland creatures then sang the delightful “Little Brown Owl”, before joining the rest of the Junior Primary classes to perform a song about getting along, called “Burst the Bubble”.
Mr Dorr’s class performed “Unbroken Circle”, a journey through life with friends, and “Caravan”, a caravan of very musical desert travellers.
Ms Constable’s class remembered their time at Nepabunna Bush Camp with a song about the Adnyamathanha
night skies (Seven Sisters) called “Artunyiapinha”, and finally, Mr Lock’s Yr 6/7’s gave an amazing musical performance using only household goods as instruments. Amazing what you can produce with tins of paint, rakes, chains, balls, downpipes and thongs – truly inspiring !
The musical delights continued with great performances from our bands and choir,
and an inspirational display of drumming talent by the drumming wizz in Year 1 !
Thank you to all who came, and for your generous donations.
