Lobethal Primary School is a Reception to Year 6 School in the Adelaide Hills. Lobethal Primary School is nestled within the heart of the Lobethal township, surrounded by beautiful scenic vineyards, apples orchards and natural bushland. Our school community is known for being friendly, inclusive, innovative and creative.

Lobethal Primary School is located on the land of the Peramangk people. We acknowledge the deeply spiritual connection their people have with Country and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future as the Custodians of this ancient and beautiful land.

The school was established in 1857 on Main St and moved to its current location in 1903. The school values of excellence, respect, resilience, independence and responsibility are reinforced throughout school activities and celebrations.
School priorities include Maths, STEM and English. We maintain a strong focus on student/staff wellbeing. Staff, students and parents are actively involved in school planning. All students R to 7 participate in Music, Visual Arts, PE and Japanese lessons with specialist teachers.

Our outdoor classroom comprises ‘The Pines’ nature play space, frog pond, vegetable patch, mud cob oven, chickens, worm farm, fruit trees and a small amphitheatre. All students access the outdoor classroom with the gardening instructor to plant, harvest, taste and cook produce from the garden. Students are active in school sports through SAPSASA events and local weekend sports.

The school hosts an Out of School Hours Care program catering for before- and after- school care as well as vacation care programs.
